Pre warning . . . World of Warcraft expansion comes out at midnight on Wednesday night, so I will be disappearing from then until Tuesday next week as a bunch of friends have managed to get a couple of days off to all game together for the expansion start. I'm kinda psyched more for the camaraderie than the game as it will be nice to get away from kids, wife, work and just be a kid for a couple of days.

gee, you almost make me excited to dust off my old toon and get the expansion when you put it like that. I think I have 5 characters at level 85. I never played Panderia.

There's five of us with time off together with one guy that's off all next week too. there's always one guy. Anyway, hoping it will be fun, but I don't want to get my hopes up too much for it.

you'll have to let me know how it is and how it looks. I tried going back for a bit with a5 day free trial a few months back and couldn't take the awful art. I know it used to be pretty nice... but... yeah, glad they are upgrading everything. Still have my doubts though. I think some of my friends are planning to play it when the expansion goes live.

Hey guys and gals...
It has been a pretty rough week or so...my one son lost his mind with a girl, something we can deal with as there is no LASTING issues.
Yesterday though my son, the one who is on here was assaulted in gym class and was taken to the ER...he was cleared but is pretty battered and bruised and is suffering with head/neck and back pain.
Police are involved and the school is doing their part...we are going to most likely have to take civil action against the school....long story short...we are both going to be away from here for a bit more.

Ronin... I know you've got a full plate right now and we are all sending our best thoughts and prayers out to you and your family. Hoping for some word that, hopefully, things are looking better for Clan Ronin.
Keia, how's WoW turning out for you? My friends were not very impressed. There was a lot they liked but they said its just the same old game. Hoping you are getting more enjoyment out of it than they. Me, I did burn out on it very long ago so that I never even tried Pandaria (except a 10 day 'please come back' free trial). I was kind of interested in the idea of retooling the graphics but I'm guessing I'm glad I didn't buy panda and the new one. |

I'm back from my wow coma, and I'm loving it. Wow I think hit a home run with this expansion so far. The inclusion of garrisons and with involving you more in the plot - as though you are the main character in the story has improving even over pandaria. Of course there's a lot of same old same old . . . but the leveling process is much shorter. I leveled my well geared main from 90 to 100 in I think 20-25 hours . . . over the course of three days as we lost a lot of time and frustrations with servers and login issues and ddos attacks. Wow did a good job of understanding and correcting the issues as they came up as best they could. I think they did a great job - effectively we were down for about 24 hours all told, with some hiccups within that 24 hours where things worked briefly - but I was impressed with the corrections.
Tehre is always going to be the same old wow game . . . it's working and they're not going to change much from that - but they've done a good job with diversity of the game and a lot of different things to do. this is of course 5 days in . . . who knows what I'll think in a couple of months - but then I'll have gotten my money's worth in play time - if I haven't already after this long weekend.

That's good! Glad you've enjoyed yourself, mate. Blizzard's always been pretty good with the customer base. They understand how fickle the 'fan' can be and watched Sony screw themselves with their heavy-handedness on EQ. I know people who STILL won't play a Sony game because of their crap CS way back in the EQ days. Its why WOW can still charge a monthly after all this time, its why WOW still dominates the MMO market... well, that and having a pretty darned good game in the first place. But the quality of Blizzard's support has kept it at the top.
