80s Top Ten Song List 1) Just Like Heaven by The Cure 2) A Love Like Blood by The Killing Joke 3) True Faith by New Order 4) I Melt With You by Modern English 5) Bring on the Dancing Horses by Echo and the Bunnymen 6) Under The Milky Way by The Church 7) I Touch Roses by Book of Love 8) No Stars by Figures on a Beach 9) Sometimes by Erasure 10) Come on Eileen by Dexi’s Midnight Runners
An honorable Mention goes out to Epic by Faith No More which wasn’t released in the US until the 1990s but was released in Britain in late 1989
As always with lists like this, it will change from day to day, and likely, from hour to hour. That and that the 80s was a freak ton of years ago and I’m probably forgetting something that would bump something else on this list

...like the band The Mighty Lemon Drops, which was probably my favorite band of the 80s and surely would have bumped something from up there... We Close our Eyes by Oingo Boingo is probably my 3rd favorite of all time and would probably taken the number two spot on the list

Kudos for putting Echo and the Bunnymen on there. While I like that song, Lips Like Sugar was my favorite from them. I have to add Turn up the Radio by Autograph, Kiss Them For Me by Souxie and the Banshees, and a HUGE nod to The Politics of Dancing by The Re-Flex. I'm sure I'll think of others later...but for now, those are the top three singing to me...

I was going to put "Kiss Them For Me" when it made me remember "I Touch Roses", I watched both vids and went with Book of Love, though Souxie Sue is a bit hotter than the birds in BoL

I could have also listed a number of songs by Simple Minds; I like them a lot.
